Trenton Animal Hospital offers comprehensive and affordable veterinary care to the residents of Gilchrist, Alachua, Levy and Dixie counties. Big or small, we are here for all of your pet's needs...from dog and cats to horses and goats to rabbits and ferrets...we love them all! Our veterinarians, Dr. Allison Hiers, Dr. Thomas Hester and Dr. Erin Nadler have extensive experience in both small animal internal medicine and surgery. Our goal is to provide the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care to your beloved animals at a reasonable cost to you. The veterinarians and staff are also committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for all our clients.   • Allison and Eric Hiers, DVM

    Veterinarian, Practice Owner

    Drs. Allison Hiers and Eric Hiers took over ownership and management of Trenton Animal Hospital on May 1st, 2010. Allison had previously worked at Trenton Animal Hospital in 2007-2008 before going on maternity leave and doing relief work in Gainesville. Eric began to work for  Dr. Ted Yoho, the previous owner of Trenton Animal Hospital, in 2007, primarily as a large animal mobile veterinarian but also as a relief veterinarian at the hospital. Allison and Eric are thrilled to be apart of such a wonderful community and to see their dream of owning their own business come true.


  • Allison Hiers, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Allison G Hiers grew up in Jacksonville Florida, but Gainesville has been her home since 1996. She received her BS and Masters degrees from the University of Florida Department of Animal Science, where she also met her future husband, Dr. Eric Hiers. Following graduation from the UF Veterinary School in 2006 she worked as a mixed animal practitioner in Belleview, Florida while studying to receive her Veterinary Acupuncturist Certification at the Chi institute. In 2007 she worked at Trenton Animal Hospital for a short while before taking maternity leave to have her second child. Dr. Hiers spent the next couple of years working part time at Newberry Animal Hospital and West End Animal Hospital, while running her own veterinary acupuncture mobile business for small animals and horses. In May of 2010, she became co-owner of Trenton Animal Hospital with her husband. Dr. Hiers professional interests include acupuncture for small and large animals, surgery, and internal medicine. When she is not at work at the clinic she is hard at work at her more important job, mother of three amazing children, Colton, Taylor, and Ashton. Dr. Hiers personal interests include traveling, hiking (really doing anything active outside) and attending any Gator sports events-GO GATORS!


  • Thomas Hester, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Thomas Hester was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where he aspired to be a veterinarian from a very young age. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Florida, while working full-time as a veterinary technician. Dr. Hester received his veterinary degree from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. He completed his clinical year at the U.F. College of Veterinary Medicine. 


    Dr. Hester began working at Trenton Animal Hospital in May of 2012. His professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, pain management, pocket pet medicine, and pot belly pig medicine and surgery. He serves on the Alachua County Board of Veterinary Medicine and was president for the 2014 year. He also serves on the board of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.


    Dr. Hester is married to his long-time love, Maya. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling and taking care of his saltwater reef aquariums. He is also an avid Florida Gators fan.

  • Erin Nadler, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Nadler was born and raised in Tampa, Florida.  There, she completed her Degree in Biology from the University of South Florida while working full time as a veterinary technician at an Emergency and Specialty clinic. Dr. Nadler received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2014. 


    Dr. Nadler began working at Trenton Animal Hospital in May of 2014. Her professional interests include Radiology with an emphasis on Ultrasonography, as well as Emergency Medicine and Anesthesia. 


    In her free time, Dr. Nadler enjoys spending time outside with her young daughter Reagan and husband, Daniel. Her hobbies include running, boating with the family, and swimming. Outside of work, Dr. Nadler has 3 greyhounds (Oliver, Sunday and Bep Bop) and a cat (Rhodie).

  • Tanya Bodden

    Veterinary Technician

    Tanya was born in Miami, Fl but was raised and lived in Chiefland for most of her life. She graduated from Chiefland High School and began working in the veterinary field shortly after in 2002 Tanya has a fantastic son and loving boyfriend. She enjoys monitoring surgeries but you will often see her in exam rooms as well. We look forward to meeting you and your pet!!

  • Tanya Rippy

    Veterinary Technician

    Tanya is originally from Okeechobee Fl but moved to the Tri-County area in 1987. She attended Chiefland High School where she met her wonderful husband. They have 2 amazing children, a son and a daughter, along with 4 dogs.


    Tanya began her journey as a veterinary technician in 2001 and she has loved it every day since. She wakes up every morning excited to come to work and see what new furry creature she gets to meet, help, or just enjoy.   • Penni Adams

    Reception

    Penni is originally from New Port Richey, Fl. She has three wonderful sons and 7 fur-babies including 1 horse, 4 dogs, and 2 cats whom she loves as if they are her children. Horses have always been a passion of hers.


    Penni has worked many years at Trenton Animal Hospital as a technician but you will see her most often in reception. She loves her job and being able to help animals in need. Penni looks forward to meeting you and your pets!!

  • Stacy Rice-Baker

    Veterinary Technician/Office Management

    Stacy was born and raised in West Palm Beach FL and graduated from John Leonard High School in 1997. She then continued her education at Palm Beach Community College, Brevard Community College and American InterContinental University. Stacy received a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Accounting. Stacy has lived in Satellite Beach Fl, the Netherlands (where her daughter was born), Middle Georgia and now Trenton Fl. She has a teenage daughter from a previous marriage and 2 stepsons with my her husband. She has a variety of fur-babies including 2 horses, 5 dogs, 5 cats, 1 bunny and a ferret. Stacy loves her work family and couldn't imagine working anywhere but Trenton Animal Hospital!!

  • Chrystie Desmond

    Veterinary Technician/Reception

    Chrystie has lived in Chiefland her entire life. She graduated from Chiefland High School and then a few years after graduation Chrystie met the love of her life when she served him breakfast at Ralph's. They now they have a beautiful daughter together. She and her family have a variety of 8 fur-babies. Chrystie has always been around animals and they are her life's passion. She loves working here and feels lucky to be able to care for your pets. We hope to see you and your fur-babies soon!

    Veterinary Technician/Reception

    Erin moved from Sarasota, Fl in 2008 to attend Santa Fe College for a transfer degree in Biology. She and her husband have a handsome son, beautiful daughter and several fur-babies. They have 4 dogs, 2 cats and a horse. Erin loves animals big and small and looks forward to caring for your fur-babies' needs.

  • Sarah Nelle Timberlake

    Veterinary Technician

    Sarah Nelle has worked with us at Trenton Animal Hospital since 2015. As a Florida native, she has experience across the state in many aspects of veterinary medicine including Equine Critical Care and Sports Medicine, Beef and Dairy Herd Health, and Small Animal Medicine. She attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies in the Animal Biology program and is currently a proud DVM candidate in the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2022! She has a passion for our animal athletes and especially enjoys caring for working canines, performance horses, and bovine athletes. Sarah Nelle aspires to practice as a mixed animal veterinarian upon completing veterinary school and is passionate about gold-standard veterinary care!

  • Samantha Davis

    Reception/Veterinary Technician

    Samantha was born and raised here in Trenton Fl and graduated from Trenton High School in the year 2000. She and her husband have 5 beautiful children along with many fur babies. Together they have built a beautiful farm with close to 130 acres with cows, horses and goats. Samantha has always been around animals and it has been her dream to work with them. Trenton Animal Hospital is a special place and we are glad that she is a part of it.

  • Elizabeth Leal

    Kennel Technician

    Elizabeth is from Broward County Fl where she was born and raised. She graduated from Pembroke Pines Charter Highschool in 2015 and continued her education at Broward College and Santa Fe College. Elizabeth moved to Gainesville in 2017 to pursue her career in the veterinary field and is now working on her Bachelors Degree in Animal Sciences at The University of Florida. She has 4 fur-babies of her own and she loves working at Trenton Animal hospital.

    Kennel Technician

    Tracy was born and raised in Chiefland Fl where she graduated Chiefland High School in 2015. She have a Jack Russel named Luna that she loves dearly. In 2017 Tracy started her journey in the veterinary field. She started at Trenton Animal Hospital as a volunteer and was soon after hired on to join the amazing staff that works there.
