Trenton Animal Hospital offers comprehensive and affordable veterinary care to the residents of Gilchrist, Alachua, Levy and Dixie counties. Big or small, we are here for all of your pet's needs...from dog and cats to horses and goats to rabbits and ferrets...we love them all! Our veterinarians, Dr. Allison Hiers, Dr. Thomas Hester and Dr. Erin Nadler have extensive experience in both small animal internal medicine and surgery. Our goal is to provide the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care to your beloved animals at a reasonable cost to you. The veterinarians and staff are also committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for all our clients.   • Allison and Eric Hiers, DVM

    Veterinarian, Practice Owner
    Drs. Allison Hiers and Eric Hiers took over ownership and management of Trenton Animal Hospital on May 1st, 2010. Allison had previously worked at Trenton Animal Hospital in 2007-2008 before going on maternity leave and doing relief work in Gainesville. Eric began to work for  Dr. Ted Yoho, the previous owner of Trenton Animal Hospital, in 2007, primarily as a large animal mobile veterinarian but also as a relief veterinarian at the hospital. Allison and Eric are thrilled to be apart of such a wonderful community and to see their dream of owning their own business come true.
  • Allison Hiers, DVM

    Veterinarian
    Allison G Hiers grew up in Jacksonville Florida, but Gainesville has been her home since 1996. She received her BS and Masters degrees from the University of Florida Department of Animal Science, where she also met her future husband, Dr. Eric Hiers. Following graduation from the UF Veterinary School in 2006 she worked as a mixed animal practitioner in Belleview, Florida while studying to receive her Veterinary Acupuncturist Certification at the Chi institute. In 2007 she worked at Trenton Animal Hospital for a short while before taking maternity leave to have her second child. Dr. Hiers spent the next couple of years working part time at Newberry Animal Hospital and West End Animal Hospital, while running her own veterinary acupuncture mobile business for small animals and horses. In May of 2010, she became co-owner of Trenton Animal Hospital with her husband. Dr. Hiers professional interests include acupuncture for small and large animals, surgery, and internal medicine. When she is not at work at the clinic she is hard at work at her more important job, mother of three amazing children, Colton, Taylor, and Ashton. Dr. Hiers personal interests include traveling, hiking (really doing anything active outside) and attending any Gator sports events-GO GATORS!
  • Thomas Hester, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Thomas Hester was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where he aspired to be a veterinarian from a very young age. He obtained his B.S. and Master'¬ôs degrees from the University of Florida, while working full-time as a veterinary technician and volunteering his time for multiple animal rescue organizations. Dr. Hester received his veterinary degree from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. He completed his clinical year at the U.F. College of Veterinary Medicine. 

    Dr. Hester began working at Trenton Animal Hospital in May of 2012. His professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, pain management, geriatric care, small mammal and pocket pet medicine. He serves on the Alachua County Board of Veterinary Medicine and was nominated president for the 2014 year. 

    Dr. Hester is married to his long-time love, Maya. In his free time, he enjoys scuba diving, sports, and traveling. He is also an avid Florida Gators fan. Go Gators!

  • Erin Nadler, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Nadler was born and raised in Tampa, Florida.  There, she completed her Degree in Biology from the University of South Florida while working full time as a veterinary technician at an Emergency and Specialty clinic. Dr. Nadler received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2014. 

    Dr. Nadler began working at Trenton Animal Hospital in May of 2014. Her professional interests include Radiology with an emphasis on Ultrasonography, as well as internal medicine and anesthesia. She serves on the Alachua County Board of Veterinary Medicine and is a current member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association. 

    In her free time, Dr. Nadler enjoys spending time outside with her husband. Her hobbies include running, salt water fishing, and painting. When not outside she enjoys time with her Italian Greyhound Oliver, Greyhound Sunday and her cat, Rhodie.

    Veterinary Technician

    I was born in Miami, Fl but was raised and have lived in Chiefland for most of my life. I graduated from Chiefland High School and began working in the veterinary field shortly after. I have worked for 13 years as a veterinary technician. I have a fantastic son and loving boyfriend. I have one bulldog, Jay-Jay that is like a child to us. I enjoy monitoring surgeries but you will often see me in rooms as well. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!!

    Hi, I am originally from Okeechobee Fl. I moved to the Tri-County area 25 years ago. I attended Chiefland High School where I met my wonderful husband.  We have 2 amazing children a son and a daughter, along with our 3 dogs. 

    I began my journey as a vet tech 12 years ago and I have loved it every day since. I wake up every morning excited to come to my job and see what new furry creature I get to meet, help, or just enjoy.     I am originally from New Port Richey, Fl. I have lived in the tri-county area for 19 years. I have three wonderful sons and 7 fur-babies. I have 1 horse, 4 dogs, and 2 cats whom I love as if they are my children. Horses have always been a passion of mine. I worked many years at Trenton Animal Hospital as a technician but you will see me most often in reception. I love my job and being able to help animals in need.     Born and raised in West Palm Beach FL. Graduated form John Leonard School in 1997.
     Continued education at Palm Beach Community College, Brevard Community College and American Inter Continental University. Received a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Accounting, From West Palm Beach FL. I moved to Satellite beach fl, the Netherlands (where my daughter was born.) Middle Georgia and now Trenton fl. I have a teenage daughter from a previous marriage and 2 stepsons with my soon to be husband. I also have many fur babies including 1 horse, 5 dogs, 4 cats, 2 bunnies and a hedgehog. I love my work family and couldn't imagine working anywhere but Trenton Animal Hospital

    I've lived in Chiefland my entire life. I graduated from Chiefland High School. A few years after graduation I met the love of my life when I served him breakfast at Ralph's. We now have a beautiful daughter together. We have three pitbull fur-babies; Harley, Yeti, and Diva. I have always been around animals and they are my life's passion. I love working here and feel lucky to be able to care for your pets. I hope to see you and your fur-babies soon!

    I was raised here in Trenton. I started school at Trenton Elementary and graduated at Trenton High School. I met and married my amazing husband whom we have 5 beautiful kids together. We own a small farm in Gilchrist county where we raise cattle, goats, chickens, sheep, horses and dogs (Boston Terriers.) I have always been an animal lover which made my decision to work here at Trenton Animal Hospital easy. This has been the best decision I have made, this job is my calling.

    I'm originally from Miami, Fl and moved to Gilchrist county when I was 11 years old. I graduated from Bell High School and have been a technician since I was 16 years old. I have a wonderful husband and daughter who help me rescue animals and share my passion for animal conservation. We have 2 dogs, chickens, 1 horse and a goat. I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
